Registered as a student-based organization in the University of the Philippines – Diliman by the Office of Student Affairs, UPCE allots a portion of the funds that it generates from the Financial Project to its PAG-ASA Project (Pagtutulungan at Pagsasamahan para sa Kaunlaran) which creates a positive change in communities that are less privileged. Because of this work, UPCE was recognized as the top student organization in UP Diliman and one of the top ten in the National Capital Region during the 2008 Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) Awards.
